Earth Day

Today B and I went to a friend's house and made a bird feeder from peanut butter and a toilet paper roll. It was a beautiful morning and early afternoon so all of us moms, consequently with all of our boys, got to let the little guys run around the front yard and get some energy out with bubbles and baseballs. B and I came home and immediately hung his feeder outside on our lamp post. I had a feeder out last year and the birds really enjoyed it. I hope they come to like this little one.

I can't help but think of the wonder our Earth truly holds and be so glad that we got to enjoy it's beauty outside in the warm sun this morning. I don't do everything in my power to be "green", but I do try to do little things and make small changes in my family's life to help keep our Earth just a little bit healthier.

The only problem I have with our beautiful Earth are the not-so-lovely creatures that come with it! The bees are enjoying the spring weather that is FINALLY happening in our area and they are out full force. I am a baby, therefore, I am deathly afraid of bees. It's really an unhealthy fear. I know if I leave them alone they'll leave me alone. However, there's just something about a big fat bumble bee buzzing past your head that is unsettling. Even as I write this in the comfort of my living room I see one outside my window and I cringe. I know their importance in the cycle of life, but that doesn't mean I have to like them!

I hope everyone can take a moment today to celebrate earth day and hug a tree.
